NNTV worksites: Hadrian's Wall

The National Trust looks after a section of the Wall near Housesteads fort, and large tracts of the surrounding farm land. Several paths run alongside the Wall which are heavily used and require frequent maintenance. We have also been restoring some wetland below the Wall by damming drainage channels with plastic panels to allow native water-loving plants to reurn to the area.

Typical tasks
Path building and repair. Hammering large sheets of plastic into the ground.
Usual meeting point
